Washington DC cops drop of package of pot at innocent mayor's home - then raid his house and kill his dogs.

This is brilliant. Dopers mail, and COPS deliver 4 pounds of pot to the wife of a Washington DC area Mayor. Then they raid his house, shoot and kill his two labs.
According to law enforcement sources, police believe it is possible that a deliveryman intended to collect the box from Calvo's porch, either before the package was signed for or after the mayor or his wife reported that it wasn't theirs. They asked to remain anonymous because the investigation is ongoing.

Gee, you fucking think?
The Mayor said that he and his mother-in-law were handcuffed and interrogated for hours while surrounded by the carcasses and blood of his pets.

Why is Paris Hilton better able to talk substance than John McCain?

I’m reluctant to post this because it’s a celebrity web video, and I hate celebrity web videos. But given that it’s a celebrity web video that actually relates to politics, explores an important policy issue, and has instantly become something of a political sensation, it’s probably worth taking a closer look at this Paris Hilton clip about energy policy.

apophasis -- the raising of an issue by denying an intention to mention it

McCain told CNN: "There's no place for it and we shouldn't be doing it."

Bush murdered Americans with Anthrax to justifiy Iraq invasion.

The false ABC News story and the deceptive anthrax attack stories are unraveling.
ABC News already knows the answers to these questions. They know who concocted the false bentonite story and who passed it on to them with the specific intent of having them broadcast those false claims to the world, in order to link Saddam to the anthrax attacks and -- as importantly -- to conceal the real culprit(s) (apparently within the U.S. government) who were behind the attacks. And yet, unbelievably, they are keeping the story to themselves, refusing to disclose who did all of this. They're allegedly a news organization, in possession of one of the most significant news stories of the last decade, and they are concealing it from the public, even years later.

John McCain is an OLD, creepy, racist bitch

1. McCain says bigoted things about Obama.
Meanwhile, Obama's opponents are also laying the groundwork for blaming him if race "becomes an issue" during the campaign.
2. Obama points out what McCain is doing.
So nobody really thinks that Bush or McCain have a real answer for the challenges we face, so what they're going to try to do is make you scared of me. You know, he's not patriotic enough. He's got a funny name. You know, he doesn't look like all those other Presidents on those dollar bills, you know. He's risky. That's essentially the argument they're making.

3. McCain says Obama is playing the race card.
"Barack Obama has played the race card, and he played it from the bottom of the deck. It's divisive, negative, shameful and wrong."

Rachel Maddow humiliates Pat Buchanan on MSNBC MSNBC cesors it.

Why the fuck is Pat Buchanan still on TV? And why the fuck cant MSNBC have the stones to play the smackdown?

McNasty had a script ready if Obama DID meet with the troops.

What the McCain campaign doesn’t want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was…wait for it…using wounded troops as campaign props.

If the McCain campaign burned a cross on Obama's lawn...

the usual suspects would say there was nothing racist about it and that it was just making a positive statement about Christianity and alternative energy sources.

John McCain's New Anti-Obama Political Poster

If the rule is stupid, if it serves no purpose, change it. If it serves a purpose, someone should let the TSA folks at the airports know.

Holy fucking shit! We agree with Kathryn Jean Lopez?!?! Unreal...not feeling well..there must be a down side...

Religion in general seems incapable - they always want respect, but reserve the right to give none in return.

This is about respect and tolerance which, among the lunatic fringe that drives public discourse on religious belief these days, simply doesn't exist. It is, as the letter writer points out, absolutely outrageous to publicly characterize as "an abomination" a loving relationship or anathematize contraceptive practices as "murder." And yet christianist goons do it all the time. And no one blinks an eye.
