Frum Tells Conservatives To Stop With Obama Experience Attacks

Not that Frum thinks Obama has experience, but that the GOP looks like shit when Obama points to Palin. And he's right.

Abstinance only VP pick Sarah Palin has a pregnant, unmarried 17 year old daughter.

Is there any other way to demonstrate poor republican reasoning? Any?
Republican John McCain, whose running mate disclosed that her unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant, has opposed proposals to spend federal money on teen-pregnancy prevention programs and voted to require poor teen mothers to stay in school or lose their benefits.

Babies, lies and scandal

Palin and the republican party: pure unmitigated willful ignorance parading as a sound ethical position.

Every single one of these family planning problems have long been solved. I’m willing to bet that Sarah Palin couldn’t make a coherent ethical argument against medically accurate sexual education and contraception, even if you gave her unlimited access to a Jesuit priest and every peer-reviewed medical article ever written. It’s bullshit—pure unmitigated willful ignorance parading as a sound ethical position.

Remember, the only reason we know about Bristol Palin's pregnancy is because John McCain leaked it to Reuters

Someone needs to remind the McCain campaign, when they whine to journalists about how terrible it is that the media is reporting on the pregnancy, that none of us knew about Bristol Palin's unwed pregnancy until yesterday morning when John McCain's campaign leaked the story to Reuters.

Palin lied about visiting Ireland as part of her foreign policy experience

She didn't visit Ireland, which is what the McCain-Palin campaign claimed to Politico's Ben Smith on Saturday. She had a short refueling stopover, which means at best her extensive Irish diplomacy amounted to buying a sweater and a beer mug in the Shannon airport.

But if you ask me, the ambient cigarette-smoking and Schlitz-drinking is just gilding the lily.

Below: Allegedly genuine photo of presumptive Republican VP candidate Sarah Palin. Sadly, the GOP has found a way to humiliate the USA even further.

TBogg summarizes the Palin abortion

* The news that Palin once backed the Bridge to Nowhere went national.

* It emerged that Palin has links to the bizarro Alaska Independence Party, which harbors the goal of seceding from the union that McCain and Palin seek to lead.

* The news broke that as governor, Palin relied on an earmark system she now opposes. Taken along with the Bridge to Nowhere stuff, this threatens to undercut her reformist image, something that was key to her selection as McCain's Veep candidate.

* The news broke that Palin's 17-year-old daughter became pregnant out of wedlock at a time when the conservative base had finally started rallying behind McCain's candidacy.

* Barely moments after McCain advisers put out word that McCain had known of Bristol Palin's pregnancy, the Anchorage Daily News revealed that Palin's own spokesperson hadn't known about it only two days ago.

* A senior McCain adviser at the Republican convention was forced into the rather embarrassing position of arguing that McCain had known about the pregnancy "last week" -- without saying what day last week he knew about it.

* It came out that Republican lawyers are up in Alaska vetting Palin -- now, more than 72 hours after it was announced that she'd been picked.

* Palin lawyered up in relation to the trooper-gate probe in Alaska -- a move that ensures far more serious attention to the story from the major news orgs.

McCain: Not fit to lead.

F.B.I. official said Monday the bureau did not vet potential candidates and had not known of her selection until it was made public.

contrary to what the McCain campaign says, they didn't even run a background check through the FBI. John McCain can't be trusted.

Republican VP Sarah Palin is a secessionist.

It's bad enough that Palin has said she hasn't paid attention to Iraq because she was focused on state issues, but we need a vice-president who isn't myopically focused on Alaskan issues.

republican VP Sarah Palin...

...shows poor gun safety.

John McCain is the man George W. Bush was pretending to be, right down to the flight suit.

The disclosures about the lack of vetting provide a view of the real John McCain, as opposed to the media created figure of the BBQ Master. He's fundamentally not interested in actually running things. Governance itself is boring. The presidency would just be a long pageant in his honor.
