"When they have a club in their hands, no one is more sadistic. When the club is removed, no one is more whiney."

Precisely conservative.

What’s next? The Great Dirty Sanchez-In of 2010? A Million Man Felch? (Insert Rusty Trombone joke here).

You know you’re a peasant when you worship the very people who are right now, this minute, conning you and taking your shit. Whatever the master does, you’re on board. When you get frisky, he sticks a big cross in the middle of your village, and you spend the rest of your life praying to it with big googly eyes. Or he puts out newspapers full of innuendo about this or that faraway group and you immediately salute and rush off to join the hate squad. A good peasant is loyal, simpleminded, and full of misdirected anger. And that’s what we’ve got now, a lot of misdirected anger searching around for a non-target to mis-punish… can’t be mad at AIG, can’t be mad at Citi or Goldman Sachs. The real villains have to be the anti-AIG protesters! After all, those people earned those bonuses! If ever there was a textbook case of peasant thinking, it’s struggling middle-class Americans burned up in defense of taxpayer-funded bonuses to millionaires. It’s really weird stuff. And bound to get weirder, I imagine, as this crisis gets worse and more complicated.

All your PIN are belong to us. (Yes, your PIN number.)

But the new PIN-hacking techniques belie this theory, and threaten to destabilize the banking-system transaction process.

• Although troop morale is high, they universally hate George W. Bush now.

"now"? What took them so long? Who could of known that a life long failure would be such a fuck up and eventually hated by all? Who could of known? WHO?

Shuster: If You’re Planning Tea Bagging Across The Country, ‘You’re Going To Need A Dick Armey’

The people who came up with it are a familiar circle of Republicans, including former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former House Majority Leader Dick Armey, both of whom have firm support from right wing financiers and lobbyists…Then there is the media, specifically the Fox News Channel…But most amusing of all is Neil Cavuto…Cavuto, defending his network’s promotion of tea bagging said, “We are going to be right in the middle of these teabaggers because at Fox we do not pick and choose these rallies and protests. We were there for the Million Man March.” […] Of course the Million Man march occurred, as newshounds.org points out, almost a year before Fox News was on the air. We can only speculate why widespread tea bagging made Cavuto think of the Million Man march, unless he got them confused with Dick Armey. And in Cavuto’s defense, if you are planning simultaneous tea bagging all around the country, you’re going to need a Dick Armey.

Minnesota court has confirmed that Al Franken (D) won the 2008 U.S. Senate race against Norm Coleman (R), soar loser.

Nonetheless, the ruling "isn't expected to be the final word because Coleman previously announced plans to appeal to the state Supreme Court. He has 10 days to do so. That appeal could mean weeks more delay in seating Minnesota's second senator."

The Palin Parade of Idiocy continues unabated.

Isn't that what the CIA's Polygraph Division is for?

Appeals of OS security clearance denials are rarely upheld, and I was completely taken by surprise when on June 27, 2005, I was notified that "the security decision to deny me a clearance had been overturned." Any satisfaction I derived from that decision is tempered by my knowledge that between the time I took my polygraph test and the time I had my clearance restored, two job offers were withdrawn, my reputation was damaged, and my chances working as an Agency contractor are slim to none.

If polygraphs worked, they'd be legal, right? But wow! What an intimidation tool. AND you can fire people using bogus, faux science? People you don't like? Double Plus Good News!

There’s the argument that D.C. has been wired for Republican rule for a long time.

Or maybe the difference is also driven by changes in the D.C. establishment. These days the Beltway establishment vaguely seems more diffuse, more fractured, a bit less status-confident, and indeed harder to define than it once was, what with the crisis, the seismic shifts in the media landscape, and the generational transfer of power Obama’s arrival portends.

Then can David Broder and Pat Buchanan just fucking go away now?

The 30 year republican controled media is coming to an end.

As Josh Marshall says, the republicans have been in power for so long the MSM is hardwired for republican view points. Even Ann Coulter publicly says they control the media. See for yourself this sunday. Are there any real liberal on? Repubs ALWAYS outnumber the left of center opions.
James Walcott (as only he can) extensivly notes that these has-beens are out of touch, but EVERYWHERE.
Pat Buchanan is toast. Watch this and see for yourself. He is irrelevant because he is a small, small minority now. He is dead, he just doesn't know it yet. There is no way Lawrence O’Donnell could of gotten away with this while Chimpy was ruling. Now, in less that 100 days, the 30 year republican wired MSM is coming to an end. Thank God.

Did CIA interrogator Mark Swanner beat Manadel al-Jamadi to death?

That's what the U.S. Army's Criminal Investigations Detachment concluded:

"The Final Autopsy Report listed the cause of Mr. AL-JAMADI's death as blunt force injuries of the torso complicated by compromised respiration, and the manner of Mr. Al-JAMADI's death as homicide."
