Dick Cheney continues to be a lying sack of shit:

“The agency has received no request from the former Vice President to release this information,” the source told me a few moments ago.

Attaturk beat me to it...

FBI spies on teen girls dressing and undressing.

In a surprising display of perviness, two agents in West Virginia are accused of aiming their surveillance cameras at a dressing room where teenage girls tried on prom dresses for a charity function.

Bad press doesn't get much worse than that.

Gary Sutton Jr., 40, and Charles Hommema have been charged with the misdemeanors and face fines and up to a year in jail on each charge if convicted. Sutton has been released on bond, Wilson said, and Hommema is to be arraigned later this week.

The FBI gave a terse statement about the privacy of families and how they're committed to resolving the matter.

Way to go guys! Shouldn't you be stopping the Chinese from stealing F-35 secrets instead of spying on teenagers? Perverts.

Chinese hack the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter.

According to the report, in today's Wall Street Journal, the spooks have downloaded terabytes of data before the attack was noticed. Design and electronic systems data were copied, the same report said, quoting unnamed US government officials. The Joint Strike Fighter - the F-35 Lightning II, and built by Lockheed Martin - uses 7.5 million lines of code, the report said.

But although the downloading of that data could compromise defense systems, apparently the most secret information about the fighers isn't held on networked systems. The Chinese government has denied that it is anything to do with breaches of security.

Last month, the Pentagon claimed that the Chinese military is honing its ability to conduct cyber war.

Sources told the Journal that networks used by contractors were compromised and IP numbers were tracked back to China.

Way to go guys!

Ronald Reagan Was a Secret FBI Anti-Commie Snitch

from Disinfo.com by Join_Or_DIE
Cory Doctorow, BoingBoing:Documents released revealed that Ronald Reagan served as a secret FBI snitch during the Red Scare (we already knew he named names during the hearings, but now we also know that he snuck around behind his friends' and members' backs and destroyed their lives):"It was revealed last week that the future President played another role as well: as a secret FBI informant, code name T-10. According to an article published in the San Jose Mercury News, documents obtained through the Freedom of Information Act indicate that Reagan and his first wife, Actress Jane Wyman, provided federal agents with the names of actors they believed were Communist sympathizers."

So not only was Ronald Reagan a real piece of shit, he was a rat-bastard!

Despite thirteen years of combatting urban guerrillas, the pattern of terrorist bombing continues unabated. The implication of this pattern of facts is that the Ministry of Information has merely invented the urban guerrillas to justify its own expenditures. This interpretation is suggested by Sam's dream girl, Jill Layton, when she asks if Sam, who works for the ministry, has actually met a terrorist.

Conservatives finally turn to science...when it involves torture.

"Surprised and Saddened."

James Horne is a leading sleep research expert. He was a bit bummed to learn that his research was cited in the torture memos to justify keeping detainees awake for as long as 11 days. Zack Roth just spoke to him over at TPMmuckraker.

FBI cracks WPA-2 Wi-Fi

The FBI's Cryptographic and Electronic Analysis Unit, CEAU, responded with two options. One of them was redacted from the released document as a sensitive investigative technique. The other is described this way: "CEAU advised Pittsburgh that they could assist with a wireless hack to obtain a file tree, but not the hard drive content."

pResident Bush is a heartless chicken-hawk who wages war recklessly and cares not a whit for the welfare of the soldiers under his command.

Yes, it's a good idea for some officials to attend some funerals when they can. Yes, the president should write every grief-stricken family (as he does). But the main job of government officials should be fighting the war so that fewer casualties result and victory comes sooner rather than later. This is the real way of honoring the fallen: ensuring that their sacrifice is not in vain.

Yea, they died in vain.

Torture memos: unbelievably ugly and grotesque and conclusively demonstrate the sadistic criminality that consumed our government.

Obama did the right thing by releasing these memos, providing all the information and impetus the citizenry should need to demand investigations and prosecutions.

Gen. Michael Hayden says releasing them "makes the US less safe". Better to torture is his logic. He doesn't seem to realize it's illegal. He also lied and said the NSA didn't break the law. Ever.

What a piece of shit.

NSA intercepted private email messagages and phone calls on Americans, beyond limits establshed by congress last year.

WASHINGTON — The National Security Agency intercepted private e-mail messages and phone calls of Americans in recent months on a scale that went beyond the broad legal limits established by Congress last year, according to government officials.

Several intelligence officials, as well as lawyers briefed about the matter, said the N.S.A. had been engaged in “over-collection” of domestic communications of Americans. They described the practice as significant and systemic, although one official said it was believed to be unintentional.

NSA broke the law under Chimpy. Congress really, really relaxed the laws, and then the NSA broke those laws too. And said it was an oversight.
