U.S. government by Marquis de Sade.
Let's see: strip searches of 10 year old girls, torture (physical and mental) of any person declared by one (debatably) elected government official to be an "enemy combatant", the rendering of persons to other countries for certain torture and and some cases death, indefinite detentions, warrantless searches of U.S. citizens, killing journalists "accidentally" who happen to report the war as it is and paying other "journalists" to tout the official version, the willingness to use nuclear weapons against countries that have not attacked us. Perpetual war. Fixed elections. Stacked courts. Mike Brown. Alice Walker. Bolton. Rumsfeld. Cheney. Small wonder Mrs. Alito shed tears. The big wonder is why weren't there more.
