The thing about this deal is this:

Un-curious george didn't know about it, but staunchly defended it when he did find out. The repug spin machine said the government experts OK'ed it. Then, Rove et al was surprised to find opposition to it.

What happened?

Two things: The Katrina video showed the world that un-curious george didn't give a fuck about New Orleans and lied incessantly about it. Then it turns out the DHS did have a problem with the deal, as did the Coast Guard. At this point MOST Americans were like, we've seen this play before. Chimpy/Rove/Cheney are incompetent and criminally negligent, and WE DONT TRUST THEM AMYMORE WITH NATIONAL SECURITY. YOu lost it, you hosers. Most Americans KNEW that our borders were not any safer since 911, and when Team Chimpy decided to sell American safety for a few bucks, the whole US of A said, "What the fuck are these guys doing?"

And Rove was baffled. Conventional wisdom is that Bush's brain is the boy genius. He is not. He is a thug. A fat pasty thug, but a thug none the less. And here is the rub.

Rove is good at politics, but bad at policy. Rove wins battles, but he is loosing the war to dumbocrats for the foreseeable future.

The dems are coming back this fall, and they will have SUBPOENA POWER!
