So hunters fly over an area, arbitrarily select a wolf (healthy or not), and spare it the possibility of starvation by, you know, severing its spine with a bullet thereby allowing it to flail in agony in the snow until the plane can land and the "hunter" can finish the job with a clean shot that won't mess up his future taxidermy project.
