You need only look at where the Bush Regime has been during its six years in power, what it has done, in terms of the continuous curtailment of civil liberties and constitutional rights.
Please note the establishment of a permanent war economy, wherein defense spending is at the highest level it has ever been in the nation, and is likely to grow, such that defense is likely to be the largest budgetary item within a very few years -- exceeding all social and educational spending combined, which has been cut by pro-Bush faction Republicans in Congress every year of this regime in order to finance ever more wasteful defense spending.

I think a not addressed enough point is that there are really two choices: 1) George Bush continues to fuck things up 2) Something happens to force a change in policy.
