The Big Deal About Hersh's 'Assassinations' Claim.

Jeff Stein over at CQ Politics is baffled as to why anyone could care about Darth Cheney's assassination wing. Let's begin by ignoring the fact that political assassinations have been illegal since 1976.

Next, let's accept that ChimpCo corrupted the Department of Justice. They perverted it for political reasons. (Just ask Don Siegeleman or Ted Stevens.) The problem with Cheney's assassination team becomes corrupted by extension. How is that you say? How could that possibly be?

But in 2003, a New York court ruled that graduates of New York City's public schools did not have the skills to be "capable of voting and serving on a jury." (Worse, some kids coming out of New York high schools are so stupid they don't even know how to get out of jury duty.)

If Obama can tell GM and Chrysler that their participation in NASCAR is an "unnecessary expenditure," isn't having public schools force students to follow Muslim rituals, recite Islamic prayers and plan "jihads" also an "unnecessary expenditure"? Are all those school condom purchases considered "necessary expenditures"?

Illegal aliens cost the American taxpayer more than $10 billion a year, net, in Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, free school lunches, prison, school and court costs. And yet cities, counties and states across the nation are openly refusing to enforce federal immigration law against illegal aliens -- all while accepting billions of dollars of stimulus money on top of a litany of other federal payouts.

Timor-Leste to build tunnel to Australia.

Over 340 miles under the Timor Sea. April 1st comes early this year.

Local media in Dili is reporting that plans are underway for the construction of a tunnel linking Timor-Leste with Australia. This is Timor-Leste’s second mega-project, coming hot on the heels of the $375-million power plants that are being built at the moment.

A tender was held last month calling for companies to submit proposals for the 550-kilometer tunnel that will be built beneath the Timor Sea. Of the 25 companies that submitted proposals, the government whittled them down to just one. China’s Energy and Tunnels Construction Company won the bid and work on the billion-dollar project will begin some time in June.

Last week, we reported on the case of three Pennsylvania teens threatened with prosecution as child pornographers after school officials discovered cell-phone photos of the scantily-clad girls being traded by male students. Monday, a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order, finding that the girls (and their mothers) were likely to prevail in a civil rights lawsuit against Wyoming County District Attorney George Skumanick, and enjoining Skumanick from making good on his threat to file felony charges against the girls unless they agreed to participate in a five-week "educational" program.
