The rightwing really senses imminent defeat and they will do literally anything they think they can get away with to prevent it.

Like Digby, I feel that as sickening as it is to learn all the ways that Republicans covered up for Foley, and as reprehensible as all sexual exploitation of minors by adults is by Foley or anyone else, the truly outrageous national scandals perpetrated by the modern American rightwing are the rape of the US Constitution; the disgraceful neglect of the citizenry epitomized by 9/11 and Katrina; and perhaps most dramatically tragic, the unspeakable stupidity and madness of the war in Iraq and the utter failure of the Afghanistan war.

There is literally no act of evil that the Right isn't willing to perpetrate to keep itself in power.

A minor blog outed one of the victims of Mark Foley's sexual predations. This violation of an abused kid's privacy was immediately linked and given heavy Internet traffic by leading right-wing bloggers Glenn Reynolds at Instapundit and Roger L. Simon of Pajamas Media.

Pajamas is so disgraced by this act that they should immediately close their doors. Since they won't, its few remaining liberal members should quit immediately.

As for the right-wing, what can I say? This act is vile beyond description.

Apparently, Wild Bill betrayed the wrong guy. Some might criticize him for that, but I think it demonstrates the kind of competence we've come to expect from the leadership of our Grand Old Party. Wild Bill is going places.
FBI caught lying to reporters about Foley child sex predator scandal

So remember: measure twice, vote once."

"After resigning in shame, Mark Foley has taken himself out of the running for Florida-16 and any vote you cast for him will be applied to Joe Negron who doesn't fuck teenaged boys or ask them to measure their penises as far as we know. So remember: measure twice, vote once."

“They’ve lost their moral rudder,”

“This isn’t an isolated situation. It is only the most recent example of Republican House leaders doing whatever it takes to hold onto power. If it means spending billions of taxpayers’ dollars on questionable projects, they’ll do it. If it means covering up the most despicable actions of a colleague, they’ll do it.”

“They’ve lost their moral rudder,”
Viguerie said of any House leaders who tolerated Foley’s behavior.

Richard A. Viguerie

Look, let us spell it out for you. Let us spoon feed you on this one. You are after all, republican.

Chimpy is an incompetent American Terrorist. He and his kind are destroying America from within. Chimpy and his pedophile, war profiteering cronies need to be tried, and imprisoned. (or tried for war crimes, which brings capitol punishment.) So, sincerely, fuck you repugs. Oh, and remember, November brings Subpoena Power. And at this rate, you one ass fucked page away from being US history's worst joke.

You're fucking done. Taste the pain, bitch.

Dow's New Height Not as Giddy as the Last One

In less than seven years, the value of the typical U.S. home has risen 64%. The price of gold has doubled. The Russian stock market has rocketed nearly 800%.

And the Dow Jones industrial average just broke even. Though “[i]f inflation is taken into account, the Dow has to rise another 2,150 points before it will set an all-time high.”

FBI Contacting Pages; Evidence Foley Solicited Sex

FBI agents have begun to contact former congressional pages in the growing investigation of disgraced former Congressman Mark Foley, according to federal law enforcement officials.

At least one former page has reportedly offered evidence that Foley sought to solicit sex during instant message exchanges over the Internet.

Fair & balanced.

More succinct Bull Moose: These guys can't fuck pages correctly much less run a government.

Sure, the Speaker failed to act responsibly after he learned about the disgusting actions of Congressman Foley toward teenage pages. Of course, the Speaker neglected to act in a bi-partisan manner by not notifying the Democrats of Foley's misdeeds. Certainly, the Speaker has refused to take responsibility for the failures of the leadership to crack down on Foley.

Leave no pervert behind.

John Boehner: Dems turned Mark Foley Gay, Planted him in Congress and urged him to perform sex crimes against children.

or something. But John Boehner REALLY DID tell Hastert, so, it's the Dems and Hasterts fault, no his.

Foley has physical sex with 2 pages

Foley had a physical rendezvous with a page in San Diego and the claims by one Republican page that Foley followed him into a public toilet and groped him.

No, Faux. That loser is all Repug.

Congress Shorter Jack...this should have been a no brainer a long time ago....

JACK CAFFERTY, CNN ANCHOR: How you doing John. Funny how things work out. Isn't it? President Bush can invade Iraq, lie about Weapons of Mass Destruction, spy on Americans without a warrant, change the Geneva Conventions and the War Powers act, hold detainees indefinitely with no access to a lawyer or a court or a trial. And after all of that it was still very much a tossup whether the Republicans stood to lose control of Congress in the upcoming midterm elections.

Then, all of a sudden, comes some instant messages from a degenerate Florida Congressman, Mark Foley, where he is making sexually inappropriate suggestions to a 16-year-old boy. Now it's not the first time a Congressman or a senator or a president or a governor has been found to have sexual proclivities that fall outside the generally accepted norm of human behavior in this country, but the 16- year-old Foley was hitting on was a congressional page, bingo.

These kids are sent to Washington by their families to learn how our government operates. This kid got quite a lesson, didn't he? Because this was such a gross violation of the trust that American families place in their leaders to watch over and protect these kids while they are away from home, well, this is a long way from being your average run-of-the-mill sex scandal. Suddenly a few instant messages have the Republicans terrified. Here is the question, what effect will the Foley scandal have on Republican candidates in the midterm elections
