“condemned, dead men who just happen to breathe”

This, despite the fact that the vast majority of remaining prisoners are “cleared for release.” Apparently the US would be willing to let them go but their home countries won’t take them?
The US constitution guarantees all prisoners the right to a speedy trial, and the phony fascist idea that non-US citizens in US custody don’t get constitutional rights is contrary to the Declaration of Independence, which says these rights belong to “all men.”
If you pray, pray for the souls of George aWol Bush and the Neocons, because they are going to hell.

Iraqi children in U.S. raid shot in head, U.N. says

This is why Bradley Manning and Julian Assange need to prosecuted. They the poor taste to point out that the United States murders children

Nixon's infamous bombing of Cambodia as legal precedent

Now, this "white paper" of Obama's is already of dubious legality at best. The idea that the President can simply write a paper expanding presidential power into extralegal assassination without asking the explicit permission of, well, somebody, anyway, is absurd from the start. Now you add to that the complication of the paper being based in part on some half-assed, hastily-cobbled-together, factually lacking precedent, and the Obama drone-attack rationale becomes like all rationales of blunt-force, repressive power ever written – plainly ridiculous, the stuff of bad comedy, like the Russian military superpower invading tiny South Ossetia cloaked in hysterical claims of self-defense.

"That is 250,000 bullets per 'insurgent' killed in Iraq and Afghanistan." So, you know, no points for accuracy there)

Essentially, we turned large areas of Iraq into Hiroshima and Nagasaki when it comes to the long-term effects of our bombardments. And, remember, we're just a decade from the start of the war, not the end. The peak of the effects occurring won't be for another few years. Happy anniversary.

Fat, white, racist republican asshole sheriff, Joseph D. McDonald, Jr., doubles down on Obama assasination

Calls critics Nazis.

Proffessional grifter of hateful religious bigotry Pat Robertson says bankrupt families should give him $20 a month

Grifter Robertson encouraged families who could not pay their bills to become “partners” of his ministry because “it’s just $20 a month.”

South African Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier, the Archbishop of Durban says pedophilia is an illness, not a crime.

Cardinal Napier was a part of the conclave that elected Nazi Pope Francis last week.

You can always count on Supreme Asshole Scalia...to be an asshole. On everything

The case turns on a provision of the Copyright Act that permits the owner of a copy that was “lawfully made under this title” to resell the work.  The publisher argues that the Thai books, printed in Thailand, were not made “under this title,” and thus that Kirtsaeng cannot lawfully resell them.  Kirtsaeng, on the other hands, argues that the books were “lawfully made,” because they were made under a license from Wiley.
Justice Breyer’s opinion (joined by all the Justices except Scalia, Ginsburg, and Kennedy) directly and emphatically accepts Kirtsaeng’s argument.

British and U.S. intelligence agencies "were informed by top sources months before the invasion that Iraq had no active WMD programme

British and U.S. intelligence agencies "were informed by top sources months before the invasion that Iraq had no active WMD programme, and that the information was not passed to subsequent inquiries," according to theGuardian.

MI6 and CIA were told before invasion that Iraq had no active WMD

Fuck you, tea bag conservative Tom Cotton.

"The Iraq war noble and just war," the Arkansas Republican declared. "I would say it was worth it, but it's also a little too soon to tell because there's nothing ever certain in human affairs."

Tom Cotton, tea bag conservative republican, is too fucking stupid to see Chimpy's strategic failure. Ask the 200,000 people who died if it was 'worth it'. Ask the taxpayer if they want their three trillion dollars back. Tom Cotton, you sir, are a fucking idiot

“Society never gave young people the right to engage in sexual intercourse"

"Functioning societies don’t do that, they stop it, they punish it, they corral people, they shame people, they do whatever,” said Family Research Council senior fellow Pat Fagan.
You know what Pat? Fuck you and your simpleminded religious bigotry. Just fuck off. You know who really needs to be punished? It's you, sweetheart.

Pope Francis: I'm cool with right wing death squads

Great. Another Nazi pope.
Much as Pope Pius XII didn’t directly challenge the Nazis during the Holocaust, Father Bergoglio avoided any direct confrontation with the neo-Nazis who were terrorizing Argentina.

Richard Nixon committed treason in 1968 by telling the South Vietnamese government to pull out of peace negotiations until after the election

Declassified recordings of LBJ's phone calls make it clear that that is exactly what happened, and Johnson didn't do anything about it because it would have required him to disclose that the NSA was bugging the South Vietnamese ambassador.

KCRW's Left Right & Center

Left, Aequum et Centrum FRI MAR 15, 2013
Hosts: Matt Miller, Robert Scheer, Ross Douthat

Matt: Two Jews and a Pentacostalist converted Catholic discuss the new pope. Too bad Vin Weber cant be here today to defend the child rape felonies that the Vatican religiously covered up. Let get the Catholic involved first. Ross?

Ross: As a converted former Pentacostalist its been murder. I have so much I have to pretend to know! I am now going to give a rambling word salad statement for several minutes without making any interesting arguments or providing any insight whatsoever. (and proceeds to do so.)

Bob: I lost interest after one Pope, I can't remember his name said we Jews were no longer to be considered Christ Killers any longer. Medieval thought appeals to conservatives. I'd be nice if Francis comes out against molesting children and becomes an advocate for the poor.  The Catholic church is a secular political institution.

Matt: How can the Catholic church ignore poor people? Isn't that its 'thing'?

Ross: (The word salad continues.) Secular terms. Social mapping. Conservative sensibilities.  Reactionary sex. Gays bad. Stable two parent families. Perfectly pleasing. Medieval holdover. Transcends.

Bob: I agree. (?) Enlightened position. Must care about children after birth. Catholic hangups on sex.

Ross: Sex reform is a non-starter for Catholics. (The Palinesque word salad continues for several minutes.) Married priests.  Room for and possibility of change. Hierarchical cultures. Priests move around. Penn State. Climate of awe. Self protecting cycle.  Besides, the rate of child rape isn't any higher for Catholic priests than any other group! Porn is normalized. Catholic hangups on sex isn't a threat to America. Sex is a hobby. Sex is moral.  God cares who and where you place your DNA deposits! Enlightened modern world. I have doubts.

Bob: That's how you justify Catholic religious bigotry against gay parents? Really?

HALFTIME

Ross: (Word salad.) Force republicans to cut Medicare. Cut entitlements. Ronald Reagan.

Matt: My beef with Ryan is that he is proposing to cut entitlements to below Reagan era levels!! Bob?

Bob: Christ, settle down Matt. Stop beating up on Social Security and Medicare. Social Security is and will be solvent for decades - shut the fuck up Matt, the adult is speaking - Medicare doesn't do anything about cost. Nothing about Obamacare dealt with costs.  The sequester? Cutting military is good. We doubled the Military budget after 911...and then we did doubled it AGAIN.  The Federal Reserve spends 85 billion a month. GE never pays taxes. 40% of the multi-national companies pay no tax.

Matt: Steve Brill. Ross, any chance on a Grand Bargain?

Ross: No. Democrats will never pass tax reform. The republicans let Chimpy's tax cut for the rich expire so, no new revenue increases ever.

Matt: Cyber Warfare. I'm should I be worried?

Bob: It's hyped hysteria. And we've lost civil liberties. Look, the NSA listens to White peoples phone calls too and not just the Dirty Fucking Hippies! Even tea bag conservatives have each tweet, email and text recorded in order to secure espionage convictions at a later date.  We have no privacy.

Matt: I couldn't disagree more. Our entire infrastructure is at risk! Nuclear capabilities, energy, all that stuff. Computers. Chinese epicenter. Red team. Pentagon. Ross?

Ross: Im not going to pretend. Split the difference. People have budgets. Major threat from Red China. Grains of salt. Middle East. Apartheid Israel are Cyber Terrorists. Iran. Flash points.

AROUND THE HORN RANT

Bob: Richard Fisher, conservative, Federal Reserve CEO in Dallas just admitted to the CPAC wingnuts that banksters are too big to fail. Even Holder, the Attorney General said the Banksters are too big to prosecute!

Ross: The republican party needs to become more democratic and less tea bag.

Matt: A pox to both parties for advocating Reagan era spending levels for 'Boomers.

“Blacks should be happy that the slave master gave them shelter, clothing, and food.”

CPAC White Power.

When asked by ThinkProgress if he’d accept a society where African-Americans were permanently subservient to whites, he said “I’d be fine with that.” He also claimed that African-Americans “should be allowed to vote in Africa,” and that “all the Tea Parties” were concerned with the same racial problems that he was.
At one point, a woman challenged him on the Republican Party’s roots, to which Terry responded, “I didn’t know the legacy of the Republican Party included women correcting men in public.”

They have issues.
